False banana, (Ensete ventricosum) also called enset, ensete, Ethiopian banana, Abyssinian banana and pseudo-banana, is a plant in the banana family that is cultivated in Ethiopia. The tender center of the plant and its corm (root) are edible, and can be fermented to make kocho and bulla. The leaf of the plan is called koba in Amharic.
