Pizza bread is a style of bread originally made at the Jimmy Buffs Italian Hot Dogs restaurant in Newark, New Jersey. It is a soft white bread, shaped into a 9 inch round, with a hole in the middle. It is used for Jimmy Buffs' signature dish, the "Italian Hot Dog", which is served in a half loaf of bread sliced partly open, like a pita bread.
The term may also refer to recipes that add typical pizza ingredients, such as tomatoes, pepperoni, and cheese, to a normal bread loaf.
