Yali pear, also called snow pear, nashi pear, Chinese white pear, and ya pear, is a cultivar of the Asian pear (Pyrus pyrifolia), with fine, aromatic flesh, and light green, delicate skin. They are one of the most popular cultivars of the Asian pear in China, accounting for 34% of China's pear exports.
Western growers do not generally distinguish between the Chinese varieties of xuě lí (雪梨), sometimes called "snow pear" and the more general terms for any white pear including bái lí (白梨) and yā lí (鸭梨).
