Aebleskiver (æbleskiver, Danish "apple slice") are small, fried dumplings, originally from Denmark. Traditionally, each dumpling was filled with apple chunks or apple purée, though they are also now baked without a filling and served with strawberry, lingonberry, or raspberry jam. They are prepared in a special aebleskiver pan, which is a circular iron pan with spherical cavities for each dumpling.
