Milanesa is a South American dish of thinly sliced or pounded beef, chicken, veal, fish, or pork, breaded with eggs and bread crumbs or flour, and fried until browned.
The term is derived from the Italian milanese, and the dishes it describes are very similar to Italian veal Milanese or Austrian Wiener schnitzel.
