Solimem, or Solimeme, is a historical Alsatian cake, made with flour, butter, sugar, yeast, cream, eggs, and salt. It is shaped in a plain round mold, where it is allowed to rise, and is then baked and cut into to two layers. The layers are sprinkled with melted, salted butter, and the cake is served hot.
